I've played the New Course on a miserable, wet February day so really not seen it at a time I would prefer to play it. Without doubt Burhill is a really impressive club and playing up to the clubhouse on the par 3 eighteenth is quite spectacular. Definitely need to come back when the sun … Continue reading "South East"
Chobham Golf Club in Surrey is a really nice course. Pristine greens which can run quicker than average. There are lots of trees on the course and it has a feeling of playing in an arboretum. I’ve found the course challenging on the two times playing there. If I can get my … Continue reading "South East"
Cuddington is a great course. It's got great views, a mix of interesting holes, good attitude towards juniors and great winter golf. Course Location Related Posts Nothing found. Course Images
Farnham is a beautiful course. It's got trees, heather and great views across Surrey. I've only played the once but had a good round in what is a good test of golf. It's not a bad length off the yellow tees at 6268 yards. Course Location Related Posts Nothing found. Course Images
Hampton Court Palace Golf Club in the grounds of Henry VIII’s palace has a very open and almost Scottish links feel to it. I suspect wind can have quite an impact on a round here. My favourite hole is the Par 3 17th. The hole has 3 bunkers protecting the green which makes it extra … Continue reading "South East"
Hersham Golf Club in Surrey is a course of two parts. Two thirds of the course is lovely parkland whereas the latter part of the course feels to have been created more recently. Definitely enjoyed the challenge of this course although not on my top ten list. Course Location Related Posts Nothing found. Course … Continue reading "South East"
Playing in a forthcoming competition. Details to follow. Course Location Related Posts Making friends at a Wee Wonder regional finalThis blog post is a hello to the new friends I made playing at Hoebridge Golf Centre in the Wee Wonders south east England regional final this last weekend. Horton Park Golf Club is my home club. It is midway between Epsom and Chessington and has lots of facilities golfers and non golfers. We were attracted to Horton Park because it has both a nine hole Academy course as well as the 18 hole Millenium parkland course. The Academy course is very playable and it's where … Continue reading "South East"
Malden Golf Club is a be a beautiful park land course surrounded by the southern suburbs of London. Really enjoyed this course as did my dad. In fact he would have scored his best ever round anywhere (a sub twenty over par round) if it hadn’t been for a crazy 10 shot ninth hole. … Continue reading "South East"
Moore Place Golf Club on the outskirts of Esher is a nine hole undulating course with par 3’s and shortish par 4’s. It’s a nice challenge but also doable for beginners. Given the short nature of the course you can do a round in less than 2 hours. There’s been a new clubhouse … Continue reading "South East"
I found Oak Park challenging. It's a fairly tight park land course with significant tree lined fairways and fairly long rough immediately off the fairway. It's an undulating course too with some fairly steep climbs between some of the holes. This course needs a revisit from me on a day when I'm confident of hitting … Continue reading "South East"
Pachesham Golf Centre is a course I haven’t yet played although I've been there for Surrey JAGS training. My dad has played the course and did ok (he tells me). Not sure I believe that. Course Location Related Posts Nothing found. Course Images
Picturesque nine hole course with two sets of tees for an 18 hole experience. This is common land so beware of walkers ! Course Location Related Posts Nothing found. Course Images
A stunning location with a grand country house as a centerpiece. The old course I played is a challenge but very playable. Picturesque and serene. I really enjoyed my round here with a member who was great company. Course Location Related Posts Nothing found. Course Images
Challenging course with lots of interesting holes. Great sausage sandwiches at the half way house. Course Location Related Posts Nothing found. Course Images
Sandown Park Golf Centre in Esher is located in the middle of the famous horse racing course. It has three courses ranging from a mini pitch and putt, Par 3 nine holes and a full size 9 hole course. There’s very little variety in the larger course with little to no hazards. … Continue reading "South East"
Shirley Park Golf Club is literally minutes from the centre of Croydon. It’s incredible the extreme you can find in a mile across London ! This is a challenging course. I’ve played it twice and love the various holes including the amazing Par 3 seventh which is like no Par 3 I’ve played before. I … Continue reading "South East"
Strawberry Hill Golf Club is surrounded by London suburbs and has a very interesting history. It’s a challenging course with a few long Par 3’s. My memory is having players in a group behind us wondering why I wasn’t teeing off when there were people still on the green 230 yards away. … Continue reading "South East"
Sunbury Golf Centre situated alongside the M3 as you leave London was a course I didn’t exactly enjoy. Long grass on the academy course fairways meant finding even well hit balls a bit of a challenge. Course Location Related Posts Nothing found. Course Images
I've been very lucky to play at Walton Heath. This is a superb golf course, quite unbelievable that it's inside the M25. Everything about the golf club is amazing. From it's history, that includes Winston Churchill as a member, through to the practise green and the courses themselves. I played on the New Course which … Continue reading "South East"
I've been lucky enough to play the West Course twice. It's amazing to play a course where you know for example that players like Rory McIlroy have walked down the very same fairway only months before. Course Location Related Posts Nothing found. Course Images
